Daemon Targaryen On Cancel Culture

Cancel culture, you ask? One of the maesters should do an in-depth psychological review of such ridiculousness.

You offer a fair critique of a matter, and suddenly you have ravens sent from every inch of the Seven Kingdoms. Nothing like children in letters, frothing and foaming at your insolence and wishing torment on you like you've insulted their mother. Quite queer behavior. I say it is some kind of illusory superiority the smallfolk have, in that they genuinely believe that by identifying with their beloved tales and rumors, they can share some of said's perceived strength and power—like how people that are lost in life join the Faith to be part of something larger than themselves.

So annoyingly obsessive and uncritical. Despising you becomes part of their identity, and they create an image of you in their own mind that is more bitter than in reality.

Everything you do is terrible because you do it. If you do something wrong, they find a way to see it as despicable. And their hatred for you is usually not a quiet, private one.

They want everyone to know how terrible you are. Seven hells to cancel culture.

Send word to have Caraxes ready, will you now? I have to fly to Dragonstone by nightfall.
