a holy communion

heat burns into my skin

my soul

the sun is fervent

hymns fill the stone streets

harmonious echoes, seep

into the humble homes

hosanna, hosanna in the highest!

mightiest waves of thunder

flowing flags rumble

my beloved brethren, thousands

valiant voices of victory

veils of colors

golden, silver, blue, showers

of rain, rain of blessings

the pitter, the patter

the laughter, my brothers

and sisters

preparing the table so that

we are able to commemorate

His death, and what is left

is to wait to take the bread and wine

and oh how divine, it is!

to be once again united with Him

a holy communion

a union

burns into my skin

my soul
